Scratch – XKCD restored

Oops! Version 13 of my Scratch NetNewsWire theme (with JavaScript enabled) rendered the XKCD feed without the images.

I could wait for Randall to fix his comic feed template to place the caption text in a <figcaption> rather than abusing alt attribute for the purpose. Or I could fix the logic in my code. Why not both!?

While Randall works on writing alternative text for an astronomical number of comics, I’ve made a change to the empty body logic in Scratch.

Many thanks to Panda Mery for letting me know about this issue in the NetNewsWire Discourse. They also pointed out svg icons in headings were more than a little over sized. I’ve fixed this and bumped up the icon size too.

Install

To enable a quick switch between different versions of this theme I’ve generated a zip of each version – incorporating the version number in the name:
